Manners maketh man

2015-07-23 06:00

I KNOW manners have changed but to address a person only by their surname as Councillor Nair did call Councillor Potter just by hers is not right.

This is the way a teacher addresses his pupils or an NCO addresses troops. Does he think he is better than Councillor Potter?

I have written to Hibiscus Coast Municipality and phoned them to get a reply.

Spokesman April seems to think he does not have to answer any question from the public who pay his salary.

I think he does not know anything but hot air.

Councillor Potter is one of the very few councillors who gives you feedback within 24 hours of reporting something. Is that why you don’t like her, Nair?

Maybe you can answer this - why don’t law enforcement officers wear seat belts as required by law? How many people get through the licencing department per day for renewals? Is the sending out of speeding fines legal?

The Road and Traffic Act says they must be sent by registered post not through normal post - so said the High Courts earlier this year in Johannesburg.
