Men arrested for beach robbery

THE Port Shepstone SAPS arrested three men who robbed a man near the Port Shepstone beachfront on Thursday afternoon.

The victim said he was walking near the beachfront when three men approached him and demanded cash and his cellphone.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Zandra Wiid said the men allegedly stabbed the victim in his thigh and arm and ran off with his wallet and cellphone.

Wiid said a witness gave a description of the suspects and police responded.

“Within minutes, Warrant Officer­ “PC” Naicker, Constable Roxy Mrawushe from the Port Shepstone Crime Prevention Unit and Warrant Officer Sydney Seaton from the Tactical Response Team arrested the three suspects, who were hiding in the bush,” said Wiid

The stolen property was recovered and all the suspects face charges of robbery and possession of stolen property and will appear in court soon. - Supplied
