Pull up your socks, Ugu

2015-07-30 06:01

I WISH to air my opinion regarding the request for people to stop using hose pipes, etc.

At 7.30am on Friday we noticed a pipe broken in Margate.

I used the SMS line to report the break and was sent an SMS to say they could send a reference number.

At 7pm there was still no reference number forthcoming.

At 10.30am I went to buy some bird food from the location where the leak was and nobody had come to repair the leak.

The owner of the pet shop had also reported the leak, but nothing had been done.

So, before you ask the tax-paying people who actually pay for the water we use, please get the Ugu people to:

• answer the phones in the first place - within a reasonable time, not 10 minutes;

• get plumbers who know what the hell they are doing; and

• get its staff to get their act together before telling us what to do.

I know you cannot control the rain, but you can fix the leaks.

Mrs J. Lombard
