ON Thursday the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court sentenced Musawenkosi Wiseman Danca to 15 years’ imprisonment for the rape of a 16-year-old Gamalakhe girl.

The magistrate said Danca will be given two sentences for the two cases - 15 years for penetration and seven for the other. However, the magistrate said with considerations Danca will serve seven years to run concurrently with the 15 years.

Danca’s lawyers asked the court to appeal the sentence and make a bail application. Danca will be back in court for the appeal on 22 October
