Removed from ‘Seconds’ Facebook page

2015-09-03 06:00

IT is with disappointment that I was removed from the Facebook page of Hibiscus Coast Seconds for sharing a post referring to having pets spayed and neutered and about how many animals get put to sleep because of overpopulation, and suggesting to rather adopt than shop for a pet.

It allows people to advertise lost and found pets and even puppies for sale. My intention was not to turn its page into an animal activist page, but to bring this under the attention of all South Coasters.

What better way I thought as many more people visit the page daily than any shelter or SPCA page.

If people stop supporting back-street breeding and pet shops selling pets, maybe one day in the future there won’t be so many strays looking for homes.

People who are not involved in animal welfare don’t realise just how big the problem is.

Everyone needs to be educated - we are the voice of the voiceless.
