VISITORS to Sun International’s Wild Coast Sun can now experience the lush landscape, beaches and wildlife around the resort from the vantage point of a Segway.

Sandi Burger PR and promotions manager at the Wild Coast Sun said they offer guided Segway tours.

“Tours on the Segway are now available at the resort, giving a “ride on the wild side” new meaning for adventurers who get to experience the resort’s tropical paradise like never before,” said Burger.

“There are different tour options, led by qualified and passionate Segway tour guides, who promise a unique, memorable and fun experience.

“Visitors can ride on the versatile Segway i2 SE patroller, which can cruise at 38km/h, or hop on the x2 SE model, which is built for any terrain and comes with knobby low-press tyres that grip the grit.”

“There is an obstacle course for younger riders on the children’s track that offers picturesque views of this untouched wonderland,” she said.

The children’s tour is a 45-minute tour meandering along the botanic forests which are home to prehistoric cycads, sneezewood and yellowwood trees, and a one-hour tour taking in the sites of the famous golf course.

The Wild Coast is renowned for its rugged beauty. The 18-hole championship golf course is rated number 11 in South Africa and one of the top courses on the South Coast.

“The Segway tours start and end at the Segway training base situated at the Wild Coast Sun’s Wild Waves Water Park. There are numerous stops incorporated into each tour to give riders an opportunity to stretch their legs, enjoy refreshments, reapply sun protection lotion and take photos.

“Whether it’s your first visit to the Wild Coast or your 51st, you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for Mother Nature’s gifts after seeing this tropical paradise on a Segway tour. There is a tour route for everyone, also for children as young as three,” said Burger.
