A CRASH on the R61 in Shelly Beach left three people dead on Saturday morning.

Both vehicles involved in the collision caught alight.

“The two vehicles completely burnt out as a result of the impact and fuel spill. Two occupants of the bakkie and one occupant of the sedan could not be saved,” said police spokesperson Lieutenant- Colonel Zandra Wiid.

The debris and oil covered a large stretch of the road.
