DECEMBER holidays are just around the corner and lots of pocket money will be needed, so setting up a small business in a shopping centre is one way to earn extra money.

With this in mind, Kara Lombard and friend Carla Wolvaardt came up with the idea of selling lemonade at R5 per glass, with a biscuit thrown in, and lemonade syrup for R30 a bottle at Umtentweni Spar, with some help from their mothers and two siblings.

The two eight-year olds set up a stand and placed signs at traffic lights directing people to their lemonade stand.

The girls said they are raising pocket money so they won’t have to worry their parents the holidays.

Their parents said they are proud of the girls as this teaches them how to be responsible
