RAIN over the weekend did not put a damper on the KZN Salga DSR 2016 games . Athletes from 11 district and metro municipalities around the province participated in sporting codes that included boxing, netball, basketball, chess, cricket, dance, football, karate, golf, indigenous games, rugby, tennis, table tennis, volleyball and swimming.

The top five final results were:

1st: Ethekwini - nine gold medals, four silver and two bronze

2nd: Umgungundlovu - three gold, two silver and three bronze

3rd: King Cetshwayo - four silver, and five bronze

4th: Ilembe - two golds, two silver and 2 bronze

5th: Ugu - one gold, two silver and three bronze.
