A NUMBER of accidents were reported on the South Coast last week.

On Thursday a driver and his passenger escaped serious injury when his vehicle smashed through barriers and landed in a river in Margate. Paramedics responded to the call just before midnight. SAPS are investigating the cause of the crash.

On Saturday morning paramedics responded to an accident on the P200 in Izotsha. On arrival at the scene they found five people had sustained injuries, with one patient seriously injured.

The bakkie they were travelling in collided with a light motor vehicle and landed on its side in the middle of the road. Patients were stabilised at the scene and then transported to hospital. - Supplied.
