THE alleged robbers who intruded on an elderly couple in Pennington recently are expected to apply for bail at the Scottburg Magistrate’s Court next month. The Pietermaritzburg couple were on holiday in a cottage on 8 November when two people barged in and stabbed the man in the face.

They were robbed of, inter alia, a cellphone, watch, house keys and the gate remote.

A 16-year-old and Vusi Sokuhulu (18) were later arrested, however, the charges against the juvenile were dropped.

On Monday, Dududu Crime Intelligence arrested Spamandla Shinga (22). He appeared in court on Wednesday.

He was remanded in custody until 9 December, on which date, he and his co-accused, Sokuhulu, are expected to apply for bail. - Supplied.
