THERE are a number of hospitality establishments on the South Coast, but very few offer the unforgettable experience of making you feel like royalty.

Nestled in a quiet setting in Umtentweni, Umdlalo Lodge and Zizi’s Restaurant prides itself on offering everything one might need to spend a well-deserved relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle.

Located on Rethman Drive and a short distance from the beach, serenity hits you as you drive through the gate into a well-kept garden.
I was a guest at the launch of the restaurant as it now opens on Sundays and the three-course meal added to the “home away from home” feeling I experienced.

The buffet-style menu offered a variety of vegetables, various roasts, rice and gravy. There was a variety of starters, but I settled on a mushroom soup which could arguably be the best on the South Coast, and dessert was decadent.

Umdlalo Lodge caters for all events ranging from weddings, conferences, parties and others. The garden also has a gazebo for outdoor weddings.

The fully stocked and licensed bar offers an excellent range of beverages that can be enjoyed at the bar or on the patio.

If you choose to stay overnight and enjoy the four-star treatment, you will find the rooms exceptionally clean and cosy. They all have big-screen television and are professionally decorated to enhance the ambiance.
To top it all, the majestic and large honeymoon suite offers the best of everything - from a large four-post bed to the most exquisite bathroom and professionally done décor.

Book your visit at Umdlalo Lodge and Zizi’s Restaurant for an experience to remember.
