THE Lower South Coast SPCA invites golfers and families to its annual Santa’s Grand Slam Golf Day which will be held this Friday at the Port Shepstone Country Club. Michael Muller of Lower South Coast SPCA said this golf day used to be run by Ken and Eric Robinson together with Ray Coole and has been on the golfing calendar for the past 19 years.

“This was done under the Leisure Brands flag in aid of the Lower South Coast SPCA. This year however both Ken and Eric have retired and sold the business. Fortunately the third remarkable patron of this wonderful event, Ray Coole is still involved,” said Muller.

He said SPCA will be continuing with the grand slam in honour of these three remarkable gentlemen who have given so much to animal welfare on the South Coast over the past 19 years.

“The golf day is aimed at generating much needed funds for the Lower South Coast SPCA’s operational costs.

This season’s number of animals admitted to the SPCA has been far above the expected number and with another 10 days to go in December and the dreaded fireworks on New Year’s, this is sure to increase drastically,” he said. Muller said there are still a few 4-balls available.

To sponsor and brand a tee costs R500, a full hole (tee and green) costs R1 000 and to become a title sponsor for the event, contact Michael Muller, Pat or Toy on 039 312 0962 or email or on 060 502 042.
