MORE than 200 artists and talents from all over South Coast auditioned at the Desroches Hotel in Margate for the Mzansi Arts Show 2017.

Show director Vicky van Jaarsveld said the turn-out was more than expected.

“Initially we expected to have only 200 auditions and already, when we started, more than a 100 forms had been filled out.”

She said the auditions give a platform for talented people to meet and network with scouts.

She said this would allow artists to be identified by stakeholders for further development and investment by industry professionals ranging from educational establishments, radio, television, modelling agents, casting agents, record labels and other employers in the performing visual arts.

She said those who are chosen will perform at the Mzansi Art Show on 9 to 11 June at The Playhouse in Durban.

“Those who made it through will be notified via SMS.”
