THE South Coast Bass Association (SCBA) celebrated its 29th anniversary at their AGM last Friday night.

New champions were honoured and a new committee was elected to steer the club into 2018.

Manus Erasmus stood down as chairman after five years and congratulated newly-elected chairman Anthony Card.

Ferro van Greunen was re-elected vice-chairman and Koos Bronkhorst as weighmaster. Joggie de Winnaar was elected treasurer.

SCBA champion of 2017 in the Heaviest Bag category is Erasmus followed by Shawn Stewart and Van Greunen.

Van Greunen won the Biggest Bass category, followed by Thys Hoffman and Hennie Ferreira.

The association also announced a new tournament called Beat the Pro’s, where anglers will be invited to compete against the bass masters of the SCBA. There will be prizes and cash up for grabs. New initiatives will also be introduced for the preservation and conservation of bass.
