Beware of ‘dollar’ and business scam

2017-05-04 06:01

I WAS approached by people at a mall in Shelly Beach who were “pretending” to look for business premises to rent. They claimed to have dollars and needed money to get those dollars from customs.

The showed me money that had glue on and said they also need money for chemicals to wash the glue off.

I refused because I had seen this on the internet and knew it was a scam.

They phoned me and asked me to meet them at uShaka in Durban.

I dropped the call, blocked the number and passed the information on to the police.

I am sure they are going to approach more people on the South Coast.

People should call the Commercial Crimes Unit if they are approached by these people.
