Beware of ‘quacks’

2016-02-18 06:00

THE translation of the word “quack” reflects one who falsely claims knowledge or skill, especially in medicine. Let me tell you about my experience with a quack in Port Shepstone.

My wife was diagnosed with cancer of the reproductive organs and advised to have a hysterectomy. Being a traumatic being, she decided on a second opinion. The results were the same.

On my wife’s retirement, our financial adviser found a dreaded disease policy which we could have claimed on. Lab results were obtained, but we ran into a brick wall with the doctor’s report.

He denied she had cancer. Now, I ask you with tears in my baby blue eyes, do women have their organs removed in order to be in fashion or for cosmetic reasons?

Last year a doctor in America tested hundreds of his patients for a so-called cancer, raked in millions of dollars and hoped to live happily ever after, but was alas, found in court guilty and crying. He got a lengthy sentence. When doctors study for seven years they think they know and also have the title of “Untouchable”.

My dear doctor (quack), I will be sending a full report to the medical council and just hope that they are not biased as well.
