XOLISILE Gcaba (24), known by her stage name, “Vero”, has released a single titled My Crown.

The young artist worked on the single with co-writer Bhekhi Makhaye of Gamalakhe, which was produced by Sound Keban, a Gamalakhe recording studio.

Producers Sjay and Sbusiso Dlamini, known as Slittville, said she is talented and her music will go a long way.

“Vero’s music is currently playing on our radio station and has received a good response,” said Slittville.

Over the festive season she performed at many events. Vero told the Fever her love for music began when she was five.

“I grew up loving music and dreaming that one day I would become an artist. I used to sing in church, at school and at home,” said Vero.

Vero was born in Bhomela “Buqhu” and lived with her parents - in 2008 her father died.

She said a beat triggers words in her mind.

“When I’m in the studio and I hear a beat, words start flowing.”

Vero admits to loving cartoons, fairy tales and musicals.

She is studying popular music performance at Esayidi Tvet College, Gamalakhe campus, which she chose because of her love of music.

Vero spoke to Fever about her song, My Crown.

“The song is about my achievements and how close I am to reaching my goal of being an artist and releasing an album.

“I am working on a number of tracks that will complete my album - my two other songs are Here to Stay and Pray I Don’t Lose You.

Pray I Don’t Lose You is dedicated to someone special who Vero would not name.

“My music is my life. I live it and people should watch out for my album which will be coming out soon.”
