Bringing education into the digital age

2018-08-02 06:00

DURING the 2015/16 and 2016/17 financial years, Eskom’s curriculum-aligned natural science pupil activity worksheets and teacher guides on the E-Classroom digital platform recorded viewings of 27 944 and 40 329, reaching approximately six million pupils and teachers respectively over the two financial years.

E-Classroom was designed to bridge the education divide and to aid pupils and teachers by giving them access to good quality educational resources.

This digital educational resource platform now has over 200 000 members.

Understanding that the future of learning is digital, E-Classroom is committed to researching and developing dynamic resources and education solutions for pupils and teachers in the 21st century.

The digital platform transforms the lives of pupils by giving them an opportunity to reach their full potential at the click of a button.

“Eskom is honoured to partner with E-Classroom and deliver on its mandate to educate South Africa’s children on the value of electricity, and equip teachers with mathematics and science material,” said Eskom’s spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe.

The topic of electricity forms the basis of Eskom’s Curriculum Assessment Policy Statement (Caps) aligned teacher guides and activity worksheets for Grade R to Grade 9 pupils.
