AN array of esteemed business women on the South coast celebrated Women’s month at a stylish business breakfast at the Umdlalo lodge on Tuesday morning.

CEO of Zofika ka Khanga Chwayita Mlamleli spoke on behalf of young business women, addressing attendees on how they could increase their “bloomability,” a term she described as the ability to grow.

Owner of The Good Health Shop Michelle Kaminer encouraged women to not forget to take care of themselves because their health matters.

Delivering the key note address was CEO of the Durban Chamber of Commerce Palesa Phili.

In introducing Phili, former president of the Lower South Coast Women in Business Forum Zoleka Langa said Phili’s accolades may lead one to believe that she was some kind of super human, however she is also a wife and a mother to two boys, thus making her relatable to the rest of the attendees at the event.

During her address, Phili encouraged women to support and uplift one another professionally.

“As a young businesswoman, I was lucky enough to have both male and female mentors. The female mentors helped me a lot in terms of my personal life, however they never offered any guidance in terms of business,” said Phili.

“I was fortunate enough to have a male mentor as well who taught me the ropes in terms of business. I want to plead with women to stop bringing each other down in business due to domestic reasons because there is no reason to not want to see other women prosper,” said Phili.
