Canning top TV soapies indicate SABC’s incompetence

THE SABC has truly shown its incompetence, naiveté and plain old stupidity by canning statistically the most watched show on television.

The iconic and ever-popular soap Days of Our Lives will see its last days on South African television this month. On top of that, we have seen an influx of new, but mediocre local shows being screened.

Has the arrogant SABC COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng taken into account the advertising and revenue implications here?

How short-sighted can the head of such an entity be?

How many millions will be lost due to such decisions in the future?

I sincerely hope the show is snapped up by rivals e.tv and that the big spenders and advertisers follow too.Good luck convincing people to pay their licence­ now.
