2018-09-20 06:01

One person died and two others sustained moderate injuries in a collision on an unnamed road in the Gcilima area on Saturday, September 8.

According to Netcare 911, reports from the scene indicate that the driver of a light motor vehicle lost control of the vehicle, hitting a tree and splitting the car in two.

“The patients were treated on the scene and transported by another private ambulance as well as government EMS to hospital for further assessment,” said Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha.

“It is alleged that the driver had lost control of the vehicle and it overturned.

“The body was taken to the government mortuary for a post mortem examination.

“The other passengers were taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries,” said Mfeka.

Margate detectives are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
