THE launch of the South Coast Toyo Club and the fun drive to collect non-perishable items was held last Sunday and was supported by many.

Toyo Club chairman Atish
Krishna said the event was held to
bring together the community
and show that if everybody works
together they can make a difference.

There were queues of children waiting for their turn on the jumping castles and to get their faces painted.

A number of businesses, including Vic’s Enterprise, sponsored donations and gift hampers which were won during games and lucky draws.

Event and entertainment
company, Team Busta from Durban, entertained attendants with activities and games.

More than a 100 cans of food were collected and boxes were filled with clothing for donating.

Krishna said the items will be distributed to underprivileged families.

“South Coast Toyo Club is the definition of team work and each club member took it upon themselves to make sure everybody was safe as they patrolled around the park, making sure their ‘no weapons, no alcohol’ rule was adhered to and at the end of the event the entire club remained behind to clean the park,” he said.

Many already cannot wait for the next family day because “there’s a new kid on the block”.
