KWAZULU-Natal U18 and U23 pool teams participated at the South African 8-Ball Pool Championships at Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre recently.

The junior tournament started on Sunday October 1 and will end on Sunday.

On Wednesday the Fever visited the venue and watched a few matches.

KZN 8-Ball Pool Federation president Keegan Reddy said this is the first time the teams have played in the nationals­.

“We are so proud of them as they are competing with the best juniors in the country,” said Reddy.

He said the teams are currently in the 10th and 11th positions respectively and still have a few more games to play.

Reddy said as the president of the federation, he is very proud to host the South African Junior Championship on the South Coast.

On Sunday the Open and Seniors championship begin.

The finals will be played on October 13.
