Charity challenge pays off

2017-02-02 06:01

AFTER a trail of Wild 5 Adventures charity challenges, raising funds for a local charity have now stopped.

Wild 5 Adventures will hand over R2 000, which was raised at the charity challenges, to the beneficiary, Khula Community Crèche at Genesis.

In a media statement released by Innovative Marketing, Claudia Sherrin spokesperson for Wild 5 Adventures, which works closely with the crèche, said the initiative was created by them to raise funds and awareness for the crèche, just inland from Port Shepstone, that feeds, teaches and minds 120 children between the ages of two and five.

The charity challenge began last April, where media personalities took part in the “Wild Swing Jump” and for every jump, R200 was donated towards the creche. After jumping each media personnel featured their experience in their publication or station.

Sherrin said the initiative was an amazing success and the goal of raising funds was achieved.

Vusi Mthalane of South Coast Fever and Siphelele Nkete from East Griqualand Fever were among the participants of the charity challenge, who contributed to the fund-raiser

Khula Community Centre expressed their gratitude for all participants.

“Thank you so much for all the trouble you have taken to help Khula’s funding.

We are deeply grateful for the donation and all the effort that went into the matter,” said Greg Velleman from the crèche.

Sherrin said they are looking at working on other community project and if businesses and/or the community wish to make a donation to the crèche, they must contact Velleman at or 083 442 6060 or Ally Minnar at or 074 752 8990.
