A CHATSWORTH couple appeared in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court on Monday, facing a charge of shoplifting. Donavan (27) and Samantha Pillay (30) were remanded into police custody until their next court appearance on June 14 for a bail application hearing. SAPS spokesperson Captain Vincent Pandarum said it is alleged that the couple was apprehended by store security last Friday afternoon at Woolworths in the Scottburgh Shopping Mall for the theft of six golf shirts.

“They were arrested and charged with theft by shoplifting and detained at the Scottburgh SAPS,” said Pandarum. Both accused will be profiled to determine if they are wanted by police for any other crimes. The case is being investigated by Detective Warrant Officer Peter Hattingh. – Supplied.
