HOLINESS Union Church in Gamalakhe, also known as Swidi, hosted gospel artists, radio personalities and priests at its leadership fund-raiser on Sunday.

HUC was packed as congregants, some coming from as far as Pietermaritzburg, Mbizana, Durban, Betania East, Filiphi and Thongasi, raised funds for the upcoming leadership thanksgiving to be held in October.

The event was led by Pastor Mchunu of Gamalakhe.

Special guests at the fund-raiser included the HUC general secretary, Musa Ngcongo, Ukhozi FM presenter Irvin Sihlophe, comedian Pastor Mjosti, gospel singer Thobekile Mkwanazi, musician Sgwili and Melusi, leader of Abanqobi, a gospel a capella group.

Bongi Malishe, the Gamalakhe branch secretary, said the service proved unity in the church, and said the event was held to raise money to thank the men of God who pray for the church and teach the word of God.

The organising team Tribute, the youth church group, led by Thobe Ndlovu, welcomed guests and thanked them for being part of the celebrations.

“The role that’s being played by our leaders in Christ has placed many of us in places we never imagined. Many of us are leaders in our work places, we are business women and men in this church because of our leaders. All that we have comes from their blessings and prayers,” said Ndlovu.

Dudu Khowa, leader of the youth church group, thanked HUC Gamalakhe members and leadership for the offerings collected on the day and blessed everyone who attended.

“I am out of words on how to express the love and support everyone has shown us today. I pray that God blesses everyone abundantly, and blesses your business and homes,” said Khowa.
