Clock shop sets good example

2016-11-03 06:01

AS the years have passed there seems to be a decline in the service and integrity of many of the shop owners we buy from.

It was therefore a refreshing experience to me when I left a clock of mine, which is about 80 years old at Time Centre at Southcoast Mall, to be fixed. I left a deposit of R500 and was given a quote of R1 500 for the job, which I accepted.

On fetching the clock I was so pleased to hear that there was only the need for a spring to be replaced and there was no charge as my deposit had covered that replacement. I did not have to pay the R1 000, which was part of the quote.

I must say that my faith in humanity has been restored. I hope many other shop owners read this and adjust their value systems accordingly.
