Colonisation based on evidence

2017-04-13 06:02

RACISM is ugly and hurtful. Making derogatory comments about another race, personal attacks whether they be verbal or physical, and government policies that penalise citizens on the grounds of race, are examples of overt racism.

I imagine covert racism is when a headline that reads “Teacher shot in front of pupils” tends to make readers suspect that the incident happened in a black school.

However, I fail to see how acknowledging that some good came out of colonisation can be defined as racist, when it is based on factual evidence.

This does not mean that colonisation is condoned - it is simply accepting that a great deal of what we enjoy today is as a result of colonisation.
