TWO South Coast convenience stores at petrol stations were robbed within a few hours of each other on Saturday night.

SAPS spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said in the first incident, three suspects walked into the shop at a petrol station in Hibberdene at 1.28am and held up the cashier and shop assistants with a firearm.

“They then forced them to open the till and took cash, cigarettes and cell phones and fled.” said Wiid.

No one was injured.

In the other incident four men went to convenience shop at a petrol station in Park Rynie at 3am and pointed a firearm at the cashier. “They too fled with cash, cigarettes and cell phones.” Cases of business robbery were opened at Hibberdene and Scottburgh SAPS.
