YOUNG local entrepreneurs welcomed Spring with a bang at the Creative Visionaries Hook Up at Gracelands Guest House in Ramsgate on Saturday.

The weather on Saturday was congruous with the “Spring Affair” themed event and so were the guests.

The opening talk was based on women excelling in business as well as their personal life, it also touched on female struggle icons as we have just come out of Women’s Month and it is also the centenary of the birth of Albertina Sisulu.

One of the speakers, Nolubabalo Qgola, spoke about women needing to occupy more space in male-dominated industries such as construction, engineering and the like.

Sizo Dlezi, co-founder of the Social Market and Glamour Woman of the Year 2017, told guests about her journey to success. She inspired all those who were in attendance not to give up on their dreams and to fight for their passions.

Host Babalwa Jebe delivered a talk on financial fitness and gave tips on how to make your money work for you. She highlighted important business tips, such as giving up bad financial habits in order to become financially fit.

The event was concluded by a talk by Estee Lauder beauty advisor Tracy Ngcobo, who gave tips on how to keep your skin looking young and glowing. She also did a makeup tutorial on how to get your eyebrows ‘on fleek’. Those who were in attendance walked away with some Estee Lauder goodies.

There was also a draw for a lucky winner of a nice prize from the event.

Pop-up stalls were set up and the guests were able to make purchases. There were refreshments served and attendants networked.

“All in all, everyone went home with something. The buzz words were ‘creative visionary’, which means someone who thinks about the future or advancements in a creative and imaginative way. A person who is ahead of their time and who has a powerful plan for change in the future,” said Jebe.
