FOLWENI Police are investigating two cases of murder and hijacking after a man and woman from Durban were found dead near Umkomaas on Monday. The victims had sustained gunshot wounds, suspected to be the cause of their deaths.

According to police, the body of a 40-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds to the upper body next to the road at the Enkangala area near Umkomaas. “It is alleged that the victim was shot while he was with a 27-year-old woman, whose body was found with gunshot wounds to the head in Folweni, C Section, at 9.45am on Tuesday,” said police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala.

Gwala said the vehicle they were travelling in, a grey Mazda 5, was not found and the circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.
