Easter murder, and robberies in Margate

MARGATE detectives are investigating a murder which occurred near the Olympic pool on Friday evening.

Police spokesperson Captain Gerald Mfeka said

police arrived at the scene and found the man’s body with chest wounds on his chest and back. He also sustained lacerations to his hands.

“The victim is believed to be in his thirties. He was wearing a black T-shirt and a cream pants. He was already death when police arrived,” he said.

“The man’s identity is still unknown at this stage and no one witnessed the incident,” he added.

Investigations are continuing and no arrests have been made.

Easter weekend also saw several robberies taking place in Margate which detectives are investigating.

“One took place in Margate, another in the CBD, one in Manaba, one in Erasmus Road in Margate and the last one in Matsheketsheni in Gcilima location,” said Mfeka.
