Eating out ‘fiasco’ alarming

2016-10-06 06:00

WE recently went out and parked across the road from an eatery because their six parking spots were full. We anticipated a lovely evening out.

One of the three ladies on duty seated us and 15 minutes later we managed to coax one to take our order. An hour later white-bottom pizzas arrived. I remarked that I thought they had a wood-burn-oven. Our plates were whisked away and almost chucked down on another table.

On inquiring about 15 minutes later, we were told “new pizzas” were being made. About three quarters of an hour later, two totally raw based pizzas arrived. They were on top, a yellowish sticky mass that lifted off totally with one lift of my fork.

There were a few minute tasteless olives, four capers and no anchovies on top. Later our hardly touched pizzas were removed without any concern. Opposite us a couple had hardly touched their heap of white, hardly dressed pasta. Eating out has become a luxury and one expects service and value. An Italian name and a Marine Drive address is not enough.
