THE June-July holidays have arrived but sadly, the sardines have not. Although holidaymakers and locals will be disappointed, there is still plenty to do on the South Coast, starting with the Ugu Jazz Festival this weekend.

On the front page this week we report on yet another sewage spill. This has killed countless fish in a river in Margate.

Ugu District Municipality needs to get their ducks in a row and make sure these incidents are not repeated.

Hopefully then, Margate will get its Blue Flag status back.

Make sure your children are safe and in good hands during the holidays and if you’re travelling, arrive alive.
