WARM greetings to all our readers for the very first time in 2019. The year has already begun with a blast, with so many fantastic things happening around the beautiful South Coast.

President Cyril Ramaphosa graced our shores on Monday and many humble residents were delighted to be able to meet him in person and share their concerns with him. Congratulations to our matrics, especially those in the Ugu District, which was placed second in KZN. Port Shepstone High School once again impressed with a 99,6% pass rate. To all those who tried their best and passed, you did it, and now the doors are wide open to a bright future. Grasp every opportunity that comes your way.

Unfortunately, the festive season did not go without tragic incidents such as drownings, fatal accidents and crime. Our condolences go out to those who lost loved ones over this period.

However, it is a new dawn and we welcome the 120 new police cadets to Port Shepstone SAPS who are hopefully going to contribute to making our community much safer.

Please continue sharing your positive stories with us and voicing your concerns. The beautiful thing about living on the South Coast is that it feels like a holiday all year round, and the beach is always near.

Turn your resolutions into reality this year, and may it be a good one for you all!

Happy reading.
