Essential to buckle up in a vehicle

2017-08-03 06:00

IT is so sad to hear of so many unnecessary deaths and severe injuries because people do not buckle up in the front and back of a vehicle.

The safest place to be in a crash is buckled up in the vehicle.

This seat belt law was not developed without good reason. Research shows that seat belts save lives and injuries in most incidents.

South Africans Against Drunk Driving — Sadd — has the manuals, posters and DVDs to help dispel any myths about seat-belt use, as well as having breathalysers for sale. Phone us at 033 343 1853.

We implore drivers to buckle up and ensure both front and rear passengers are buckled up as well.

Additionally, we ask parents to ensure that their children who drive always buckle up and drive with zero alcohol in their body.
