Feet first in support of Tekkie Tax

2016-03-17 06:00

SOUTH Coast Hospice has started rolling out its Tekkie Tax 2016 fund-raising campaign to be held on 27 May.

The campaign aims to raise funds for organisations nationwide. People purchase shoe laces and Tekkie Tax stickers from a participating organisation.

South Coast Hospice fund-raiser BT King said the campaign gives you the opportunity to show with your feet where your heart lies. Choose your sticker for a cause close to your heart, spunk up your tekkies with a funky pair of Tekkie Tag shoelaces and you are ready for National Tekkie Tax Day.

There are 11 national beneficiaries of the fund-raiser representing more than 1 000 local non-profit organisations.

“Tekkie Tax campaign raises funds for Epilepsy SA, Child Welfare SA, SOS Children’s Villages, Childhood Cancer Foundation (Choc), Special Olympics SA, Cansa, Meals on Wheels, just to name a few,” she said.

Hospice already has stickers with different messages and shoe laces which can be pre-ordered.

“The shoelaces are selling at R35 per packet - paid for and then ordered. The stickers are R10 each and are available from South Coast Hospice Association,” said King.

So put your best foot forward and support National Tekkie Tax Day on Friday, 27 May.
