THE Ugu Film Festival, held at venues on the South Coast last weekend, was a success. Film enthusiasts from all over rubbed shoulders with actors and directors for four exciting days. Aspiring filmmakers said screenings of local films inspired them to pursue their dreams with fervour. Organiser and founder of the annual event Senzo Zindela said his team took the success of the event as a breakthrough for the local film industry. “All in all it was proof that unity is power and humanity can be restored in our community.“All the challenges empowered me to do more to motivate oppressed black people to always keep going. “I take this 2017 success as the breakthrough act that will free many people living with the perception that certain races can’t do certain things,” said Zindela.
