SOLLYWOOD Films and Ugu Film Festival founder, Senzo Zindela, has been nominated in the film category for the sixth annual 2016 KZN Young Achievers Award to be held on 27 August at the Durban ICC.

Last year Zindela was also nominated, and this nomination comes after his recent achievements at the Safta Awards and his recent visit to Cannes, France, where he put the South Coast on the map.

Zindela said this means a lot to him as he is busy with plans for the Ugu Film Festival, which will be taking place on 15 September.

This is not the first time he has been nominated.

“It the second time this year.

“I was nominated by National Film and Video Foundation for Special Recognition for Provincial Development.

“I won the award and it was broadcast live on SABC2.

“There are no words to describe what this means to me, it is more than what a person can explain.

“I am motivated to continue doing what I do best and what is best for my community.

“These awards inspire me and my fans to shine in our corner without moving to big towns. We’ll stay here and continue to do good things because our efforts are recognised and are making waves nationally and internationally,” he said.

Zindela said bringing the award home would serve as proof that the event is effective.

“This will put more attention on the South Coast, bringing more visitors, business and economical growth.

“This means that local people must be prepared to grab these opportunities as they will assist in job creation,” he said.
