UGU Film Festival (UGUFF) board members and the advisory committee met on Wednesday at its offices at Spillers Wharf to discuss how to take it to the next level. This annual event, now in its fourth year, and has proved that the South Coast is a film-industry paradise.

UGUFF CEO Senzo Zindela said the festival influences and attracts local and international film producers, distributors and various experts in the industry, and provides work for many unemployed youths.

“UGUFF advisory and board members said the event educates and shares knowledge with film makers on the South Coast, which is a breakthrough,” said Zindela.

UGUFF advisory member Jackie Motsepe, KZN Film Commission CEO, said in previous years the event outperformed expectations.

“UGUFF has gone beyond expectations,” said Motesepe, who shared ideas on how the festival can be further developed. It should look into new strategies,” said Motsepe.
