Filmmaker’s Thailand trip

FILMMAKER Senzo Zindela spoke about his trip to Thailand for the signing of a memorandum of understanding with his Thai partners for his upcoming film Red Cargo.

The film, aimed at creating awareness about rhino poaching, is about a Zulu warrior who goes head to head with Thai rhino poachers.

The film starts shooting in June and will be released in 2018.

Zindela said most of the movie will be shot on the South Coast, with some being shot in Johannesburg, especially scene’s involving wild animals, and fighting.

Zindela and his partners left South Africa on 12 December, 2016 for a press conference, hosted by the KAO Tayarn team, in Bangkok on 14 December, 2016 and the major role players, Lwandle Ngwenya and Siyabonga Shibe, were present.

Also attending was the new South African ambassador Deoff Doige, who opened the conference.

He said the briefing attracted more than 150 television channels and newspapers from across Asia.

“We were blown away by the press conference at Siam Paragon, the third largest mall in Thailand.”

Thai actors Dan Chupong, Sumrey Maungput, Yanin Vismitananda, Thiraphat Sajakul and Zozeen Phanyanut Jirarottanakasem will also star in the movie.

“The conference was aimed creating hype and arousing interest. The audience was also informed about the existing and sealed agreement of co-production between us, the South African team, SollyWood films, and our Thai partners.”
