Five family members buried

THE funeral service for the five people who died in an accident on Oscar Borchers Road, known as Sugar Mill Road, in Marburg was held on Sunday at Andra Hall.

Perumal Nandha Moodley (42) Roshnee (35) and Radley (33) Govender, Varshen Moodley (22) and Kioshen Moodley died during the early hours of Saturday morning as they were coming from a birthday party, on their way to Shelly Beach.

They were travelling in a white sedan and their bodies were found, flung from the car after it left the road and ploughed through thick vegetation.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said accident expert, Warrant officer Gerhard Prinsloo is investigating the cause of the accident.

“The wreckage of the car has been impounded for examination and a culpable homicide docket was opened,” she said.
