MARGATE businessman and the former Hibiscus Coast mayor’s son, Siyanda Shusha, died on January 3 after complaining of difficulty in breathing.

Shusha was at home with his mother at the time and had not reported any illness, besides a sudden rise in his blood pressure, so said a family friend.

Family friend and ANC MP, Nzwaki Swartbooi said his death was sudden and has shocked everyone.

Swartbooi said Shusha was the last born son of Nolwazi and was very close to his mother.

“He was a humble child and very helpful. He was also known in the community for his friendliness and involvement in politics,” said Swartbooi.

Condolences and messages of disbelief were posted on his Facebook page, many saying his death was “unbelievable”.

Shusha was the unmarried father of two.

Regional ANC chair Mzwandile Mkwanazi said they are saddened by the news.

“It all happened unexpectedly, and the ANC will support the Shusha family, especially at this difficult time,” said Mkwanazi.

Shusha’s funeral will be held on Saturday at the Shusha residence in Extension 3.
