A NUMBER of potential cricket players from the South Coast responded to the recent Gamalakhe Keg Warriors call for players.

Club chair Sphelele Mbuyisa said more than a handful of players have shown an interest in participating in the upcoming tournament in October - the exact date of the tournament is still to be announced.

Trials will take place on 28 and 29 September.

“All registered players will be part of the trails to qualify for the tournament,” said Mbuyisa.

Mbuyisa said cricket kits, gloves, pads and boots were donated to the club.

“We are grateful for the donation received from a generous community member, Mr Dilo. He donated a number of items of which are much appreciated by the club,” said Mbuyisa

Mbuyisa asked people, who have unused cricket equipment at home, to donate it to the club.

“Anyone who wishes to donate, must contact me on 078 622 8002,” said Mbuyisa

The club will begin practise at Olwandle High from 4pm to 6pm - players will be notified when.
