HIBISCUS Kennel Club wishes all its members a wonderful 2018 with many successes in the Agility and Breed Rings as well as Obedience Trials. You all work so hard to reach your goals and deserve every certificate and every rosette. Those who attend training on Saturday afternoon purely to socialise your dog and spend quality time with him your goals are as important to us and we will endeavour to meet all your needs.

We resumed training on January 6 and enrolled three new dogs, all being rescued at some time in their lives, and all being loved and cared for by wonderful families. There is always a special place in our hearts for animals who are given a second chance as they are always a little different.

Unfortunately, 2017 ended rather dismally as we were unable to make use of the field after the champion show in September. All systems are now in place to rectify what was destroyed but unfortunately the weather is out of our control.

To prospective new members Saturday training starts at 2pm with Beginners Agility, Orientation Class and Flyball and is followed at 3pm with Obedience Training. Advanced Agility takes place at 4pm. Agility is also available on Wednesday morning and Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and Obedience on Tuesday afternoon.

There is an annual fee payable on the anniversary of enrolment with no hidden costs apart from those wishing to participate in Canine Good Citizen tests.

These tests are Kusa (Kennel Union of South Africa) related and we purchase the packs from them. There is an added bonus of bringing your binoculars and doing a spot of bird watching after your lesson as the Port Shepstone Borough Field in Quarry Road has an abundance of birdlife
