KHANYA Hospice held its annual general meeting last Thursday at Umkomaas.
Hospice CEO, Neil McDonald, said it was one of the best attended in a long time.
“AGM’s can get long and boring, but there was a jovial mood and in general people were happy. Even the care givers were included in the proceedings for the first time,” said McDonald.
Also present was the chairman, Narend Singh.
“The full board was re-elected and their main objective is to get the in-patient unit going as soon as possible because there is a great need for this,” said McDonald.
Khanya Hospice gets at least two phone calls a day from people who are looking for a bed for a patient.
