Hospital receives excellence award

MURCHISON Hospital received two awards at the MEC’s Annual Service Excellence Awards (Mesea) in Durban last month.

The first award went to the maternity ward, which received “special recognition” for “service excellence in maintaining a consistent low maternal mortality rate over the past three years (2014/2015 to 2016/2017) under Ugu District Hospitals award.

The second award went to the hospital’s dietician Jenusha Balmith, who came fourth in the Allied Health Professional of the Year category.

The chairperson of the Murchison District Hospital board applauded the Balmith and maternity ward staff on their achievement. - Supplied.
