INVESTING in property is a big decision and serves as a life-long investment that could potentially earn you big profits. It is vital to bear certain things in mind when buying a home, as these same factors will determine whether you will be able to sell it when the time comes.

Increasing property value is key and is simpler than you think.

Apart from the obvious improvements to your home, it is often necessary to add a couple of extras that make it all the more attractive to potential buyers. If these buyers know that their livelihood will be at its peak in their new home, they are more likely to make a viable offer.

As safety is an undeniable need for any couple or family looking to buy property, it should be your first priority. Installing burglar bars and security gates in all rooms will set prospective buyers at ease.

A further improvement is to install a carport. In areas where hail is prevalent, the damage caused by hailstorms can be devastating, costing car owners thousands in repairs. Were their cars parked under a carport, these damages could have been prevented and the insurance premium on their vehicles may also have been reduced with these measurements in place.

Benefits of metal carports

These carports are the most effective in that they protect cars, no matter the conditions. Apart from being durable, they can be crafted into different shapes to suit the desired area and are also easy to maintain.

Although they are often more costly, they are cost effective in the long run as damage and the maintenance thereof is kept to a minimum.
Good metal carports can consist of metals including steel and aluminium.

Panels are insulated with a polystyrene foam core, which is then covered with steel or aluminium. Choosing between steel and aluminium depends on what you want for your carport.

Aluminium carports

Aluminium is a light metal that tends to dent easily. Although it is easily manoeuvred, it is not a particularly strong metal.

Its advantage lies in the fact that it doesn’t rust as easily and would not require as much maintenance. It is doubtful that aluminium will be able to handle the weight of heavy hail.

Steel carports

Typically, steel is known to be stronger than aluminium. Although it rusts more easily, modern galvanising techniques have allowed a longer-lasting, rust-free steel frame for carports.

Were rust to affect your steel carport, the affected area can simply be repainted. With sufficient maintenance, a steel port will prove much more advantageous than an aluminium one.

Increasing the value of your property, this sense of security is sure to attract potential buyers. - Property24.
