Instinct leads to drug dealer’s arrest

2016-09-29 06:00

A 22-YEAR-OLD man appeared in Ramsgate Court on Monday morning for possession of drugs.

Nonjabulo Nqoko (22), was arrested on Friday after Margate Crime Intelligence and Margate Crime Prevention Unit noticed the accused behaving suspiciously.

“The officers were doing normal crime prevention duties when they saw a suspicious looking male,” said police spokesperson Captain Gerald Mfeka.

Nqoko fled into a building and the officers followed him and heard him talk to a woman.

“As the police approached the two, the man ran into a room and the woman tried to close the door on the police,” said Mfeka.

Police managed to enter the room and found 150 whoonga capsules and eight parcels of dagga worth R4 580.

There were also 14 parcels of brown powder. It’s properties are unknown at this stage.

The case was postponed to 30 September for further investigation.
